Snow ghillie suits are camouflage systems that are
sometimes pure white and used in winter conditions. However, in a lot
of snow-covered environments, it is better to have a more browns mixed
in to simulate brush. See, most areas are only partially covered
with snow. So if one were wearing a snow ghillie suit with parts of brown
burlap mixed in the white, they would blend in more suitably. Not to say
there aren't some places completely covered in snow at times, but more
often they are only partially covered.
If one attempts to wear a snow ghillie with parts of brown
on it, they will surely stick out in purely white environments. But if
someone were to use a purely white snow ghillie in partially snow-covered
environments, they would be camouflaged acceptably. However, the snow
ghillie with partial brown burlap would blend in better. These are general
concepts about snow ghillie suits to consider before buying, or making
a snow ghillie.
Snow ghillies are often used in chilling weather, so they
are made to keep the person inside warm as a precaution. Often times these
snow ghillie suits are made extra thick, using wool or other warm, thick
materials to keep the person wearing the suit warm. It isn't a bad idea
to add extra layers of clothing under the suit before you go out (after
the suit is made). Snow ghillie suits are a relatively large part of the
ghillie suit market and are popular because of how well they work in snowy
situations and environments. If you have any questions about snow ghillie
